MOST PROUD OF: Working on legislation as part of the joint State Government Commission, drafting new statutes for divorce, alimony, custody and surrogacy.

MOTIVATOR: I love teaching, especially a high school class on crisis in marital communication, where the students role play.

I WISH I HAD KNOWN YEARS AGO: That I would lose two of my siblings before I was 49. I wouldn't do anything differently, but it is very humbling.

LIFE LESSON: When I was 40, self-employed, and had pneumonia, I learned that you must take care of yourself and your family first. When you are good at what you do, your clients will stay.

MENTOR: My youngest daughter was on an apnea monitor so I started a 4-day work week. This balanced lifestype remains a blessing.

PASSION: I adore listening to my son play piano.

BEST ADVICE RECEIVED: My mother told me that good parenting isn't measured by whether you do or don't work. A parent's job is to show kids they are loved and give them a sense of security.

FOR A LAUGH: I talk to my middle daughter who has a wonderful sense of humor.
