FIRST JOB: I worked in a historical documents center.
MOST PROUD OF: My Radnor restaurant
I WISH I HAD KNOWN YEARS AGO: How to be more relaxed, less nervous, and how to delegate.
MENTOR: Jacob Rosenthal, a neighbor and founder of the Culinary Institute of America, who mentored me and also taught me French cooking.
LEADERSHIP TIP: Be honest with your staff.
HOW/WHY CHOSE FIELD: It was by accident. Although I have a degree in Library Science, my husband's family asked me to run the front of their restaurant. My husband hated being in the kitvhen, but I always loved cooking; so we switched roles.
DEFINING CAREER MOMENT: Winning my first James Beard award.
LIFE LESSON: Be persistent, never complain, never be bitter, and never get angry.
PASSION: Cooking; from going to the market every week for produce to buying pots and pans. I also love gardening.
ADVICE TO PASS ON: Be generous to others and they will be generous back to you.
FOR A LAUGH: I turn on music and dance.
