HOW/WHY CHOSE FIELD: I was considering becoming a paralegal; but after handling my mother's estate, I thought I could help people more by becoming an attorney.

LIFE LESSON: It's okay to say, "I don't know; let me find out and get back to you."

MENTORS: My father, who never asked an employee to do something he wouldn't do; and my mother, the kindest, most warm-hearted, and caring person I ever knew.

ADVICE TO PASS ON: Never assume you know someone else's thoughts, feelings, or motivations.

BEST ADVICE RECEIVED: Always figure it will take two to three times longer than you expect to complete a task.

FOR A LAUGH: I play with my dog, a silly 9-year-old Golden Retriever who still thinks he is 2. And I talk with my frogs, if they are out.
