FIRST JOB: When I was 14, I worked at a farm picking corn, strawberries and watermelon.
HOW/WHY CHOSE FIELD: I wanted to follow in my sister's footsteps and become a physician. But I wanted to take care of the sickest patients.

KEYS TO SUCCESS: Honesty, empathy, and definitely humility.
MOTIVATOR: Life itself; I see a lot of death and it reminds me to always live to the fullest.

MENTOR: My mother who grew up poor and finished school while raising 4 kids. She instilled the love of learning and taught us the value of independence.
